"Own a Pony" experience activities
Below you will see a variety of photographs depicting some of what goes on during these sessions. Some of these children were extremely nervous and had had no experience of looking after or indeed handling any pony.
Given one to one support , guidance and positive encouragement they became confident in a very short time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

How to take your pony from her stable to the field (on your own)
Previous horse experience NOT required.
The little seven year old girl featured above was extremely nervous when she first arrived but after a very short period of time found things like putting headcollars on and leading Fairy out to her field , making feeds, brushing and filling haynets real fun. This little girl finally progressed to actually owning her OWN pony 'for real'.
Other things you need to do to have a happy healthy pony.
I have just washed Macey's tail-that was really fun. Now I am going to brush her coat with a body brush.
I put the rug on correctly and walked Fairy to her stable.
I can now clean the horses hooves out with a hoof pick. There is a special way of doing this. You clean the hooves out to make the horse comfortable.

I have just brushed Macey's mane. I think she looks lovely and very beautiful.
I am only three and I learnt how to lead Macey safely
I can use a special brush to clean Ella's face. It is soft so I do not hurt her.
I am five years old and I can lead Ella everywhere now! Look how I hold the lead so I do not fall over it.

Learning how to wash the horse's tails properly.
Another job. Cleaning the stables is called 'mucking out'. The stables are all very clean for the horses and they are mucked out twice a day. I used a special Equi Scoop which is really easy for children like me to use.
