"Experience Owning A Pony " sessions
I think almost all children have asked at some time "can I have a pony"? either for birthday or Christmas presents or any time inbetween.
But for most children sadly the answer is most likely to be "no"
The reasons?...
The expense of buying the pony
The expense of keeping the pony
No knowledge of looking after a pony
No knowledge of what equipment to buy a pony
No knowledge of the type of most suitable pony for a child
You do not want to commit to an animal that could live 30 years or more
So you have to watch their expectant smiling face with eyes wide open full of excitement turn to sadness and disappointment as you say "no sorry sweatheart". Children do not understand finance or lack of experience as a reason-they just want a pony!
Well imagine their face if you told them they could visit The Dragonara Stud of American Miniature Horses and they could spend time with us learning how to look after our totally irresistable rare 25"-34" horses.
What a treat!
These sessions are suitable for children 5 years of age upwards to adult age. The under 5's can take part in our starter Grooming & Cuddling sessions where the level of instruction is of a much simpler level.
We limit these sessions to a maximum of 4 children / teenagers at a time to allow for personal instruction. There are discounts for two or more children booked into a session (see booking page)
The amount of instruction and complexity of activities will vary considerably depending on the age of child and any previous experience (not necessary)
